“I just felt knackered all the time, and needed to do something about it” Dave said.[/one_half_last] [one_half_first][/one_half_first][one_half_last]Dave saw immediate effects in energy levels and body shape. He actually lost 3 and 1/2 stone in his first 12 weeks. More significantly his Diabetes was brought under control – something he never expected to see happen. Dave was over the moon with his new way of life. We all took to Dave as a person and respected his work ethic in the gym. Then what no one ever though would happen, happened. Dave had some discomfort in one of his arms and put it down to a trapped nerve from training. Then when it persisted the doctor sent Dave for some tests and the result came back that Dave had Parkinson’s Disease. Owning a gym and working as a PT for a long time you see and hear a lot of stuff happening to members, but this hit me hard.
I remember being in the office and speaking to Dave as he told me. He’s been really solid since the diagnosis, and I think the other members and my team of staff have taken inspiration from his mental toughness.
